Kha' Zix Release

venerdì 28 settembre 2012

Kha'Zix Abilites & Infos:

  • Unseen Threat (Passive): When Kha'Zix is not visible to the enemy team, he gains Unseen Threat, causing his next basic attack against an enemy champion to deal bonus magic damage and slow.
  • Taste Their Fear: Deal physical damage to a single target. Damage against isolated targets is significantly increased. Kha'Zix passively marks enemies that are isolated from nearby allies.
    • Evolving claws increases damage to isolated targets even further. Kha'Zix also gains increased range on both Taste Their Fear and his basic attack.
  • Void Spike: Kha'Zix fires spikes that explode on contact, dealing physical damage to all nearby enemies. Kha'Zix is healed if he is within the explosion radius.
    • Evolving spike racks causes Void Spike to fire three projectiles in a cone. Spikes will also apply Unseen Threat to all enemies caught within the area of effect.
  • Leap: Kha'Zix leaps to an area, dealing physical damage to enemies in the area he lands.
    • Evolving wings increases Leap's range dramatically and causes a kill or assists to refresh the cooldown of Leap.
  • Void Assault: Each rank of Void Assault allows Kha'Zix to evolve one of his active abilities, granting it an additional effect. Upon activation, Kha'Zix enters stealth and gains Unseen Threat, increasing Movement Speed. Kha’zix can cast Void Assault again for a short time after activation.
  • Evolving active camouflage allows Kha’Zix to cast Void Assault three times over the course of its duration and reduces any damage he sustains while in stealth.

The bonus effects that Kha’Zix accrues for ambushing a target make him a natural jungler. His core initiation skill, Leap, allows him to stage ganks from unexpected angles, even over long distances or across terrain. If his quarry happens to be a lone champion, Kha’Zix can utilize the bonus damage from Taste Their Fear combined with the initial magic damage from Unseen Threat to truly devastating effect. Remember that the area of effect damage from Void Spike can help clear away any lingering minions to isolate a foe, making them vulnerable to some additional punishment.

Once he’s initiated, clever repositioning can allow Kha’Zix to break line of sight and refresh Unseen Threat. Juking into the brush, using Leap to withdraw and reinitiate, or entering stealth by casting Void Assault will allow the Voidreaver to continually slow enemies and lay down bonus damage from his passive. Cunning use of Unseen Threat is key to maximizing Kha’Zix’s damage potential.

Later in the match, Void Assault allows Kha’Zix to safely and aggressively navigate team fights. After leaping into combat, Kha’Zix can use his ultimate to evade attacks while he picks apart vulnerable members of the enemy team. Once he’s downed an opponent, activating Void Assault again can allow him to either safely withdraw or reinitiate on another target with Unseen Threat.

Each of Kha’Zix's active abilities can also be evolved to provide greater utility. At Levels 6, 11, and 16, he’ll gain an Evolution Point that can be spent to unlock additional effects on a specific skill. If you’d like greater hit and run potential, for example, choosing to evolve Void Assault and Leap can drastically increase your mobility by offering additional stealth and a second Leap after scoring a kill or assist. If you find yourself falling behind, combining Void Assault with Void Spike can give you increased durability in team fights and greater farming and poke potential while you catch up on gold. Tailoring your evolutions to address the challenges of a specific match-up can give you that extra edge you need to finish strong in a close matchup.

A vicious Void predator, Kha'Zix infiltrated Valoran to devour the land's most promising creatures. With each kill he absorbs his prey's strength, evolving to grow more powerful. Kha'Zix hungers most to conquer and consume Rengar, the one beast he considers his equal.
When Kha'Zix crossed over into this world, he was fragile and ravenous. The animals he first encountered were too small to fuel the rapid evolution he craved. Kha'Zix focused his hunger on the most dangerous creatures he could find, risking his life to satisfy his need. With each kill he feasted and changed, becoming a stronger, faster predator. Kha'Zix soon chased his prey with unrestrained aggression, believing he was unstoppable. One day, while savoring a fresh kill, the predator became the prey. From cover a creature pounced in a blur of fangs and steel, tackling him to the ground. It roared in his face slashing and clawing, and Kha'Zix felt his blood spill for the first time. Screeching in fury, he sliced at the brute's eye driving it back. They fought from sunset to sunrise. Finally, near death, they reluctantly separated. As his wounds closed, Kha'Zix burned with anticipation at the idea of devouring one who could match the Void's strength. He resumed his search for powerful prey with renewed vigor. Someday, Kha'Zix will feast on Rengar.

Kha'Zix Sneak Peek

Sneak Peek image

Riot published few days ago the sneak peek of Kha'Zix, you can watch it Here.

If you take the time to examine the many wonders of nature, you’ll find a fair number of animals that are remarkably well-adapted to their environment. It isn’t every day, however, that you run across a creature that can adapt to every environment.

Feast your eyes on this fine specimen here. Meet Kha’Zix, the Voidreaver – the most highly-evolved champion yet to grace the Fields of Justice. Maybe you’re marveling at the iridescent wings or the intimidating spike racks? Well, you’ll find that’s just one of many possible evolutionary paths your Voidreaver can take. Perhaps some adaptive camouflage and wicked, scythe-like claws might be more appropriate to your particular hunting ground. Whichever evolutions you choose to manifest, you’ll find Kha’Zix has just the tools you need to viciously slaughter unsuspecting prey.

If you’re the kind of assassin that’s always ready to adapt, evolve, and overcome, you’ll want to keep an eye on the latest addition to the Void lineup.

Official Season 2 Rewards

Official Banner

The Season Two World Championship is approaching, and with it, the end of the competitive season on October 23, 2012. And the end of Season Two brings Season Two rewards. You’ll earn some exciting rewards this season, including new summoner icons, loading screen borders, profile banners, forum badges, and a stunning skin. We’ll tell you about those in a minute.

First, we’ve got some news about changes to the ladder and rating system that’ll make your race for the finish a lot more rewarding. With the Mid September Patch we’ll be rolling out improvements to Ranked play. In Season Three, we’ll look to make other changes and improvements.

Here’s the scoop.

The Changes:
  • Season 2 rewards will be based on the highest rating you achieve between now and the end of the season. Once you’ve achieved a tier, you’ll have it for good, and playing more games can only help you out. In order to do this, we are resetting Top Rating for all players to their Current Rating and will be using Top Rating to determine end-of-season reward tiers.
  • We’re adding a whole new tier! Diamond will be at the top and the other tiers have expanded so that everyone who becomes ranked will qualify for a tier and the corresponding rewards. Players who joined a team on or after September 1 will also need to win five games with that team to qualify for rewards.
  • We’ve upgraded the medal art on your summoner profile. At each new tier, you’ll unlock an awesome new medal.
  • Tiers will now be subdivided into rating “ranks”. These ranks inform you of how close you are to moving up to the next tier. Moving up a rank also enhances your summoner profile medal.

The Rewards:

Bronze tier:

  • Bronze summoner icon for each queue (3v3 team, 5v5 solo, or 5v5 team) in which you are Bronze tier

Silver tier:

  • Silver border on the game loading screen
  • Silver summoner icon for each queue in which you are Silver tier

Gold tier:

  • War Hero Janna skin
  • Gold banner trim in summoner profile
  • Gold border on the game loading screen
  • Gold summoner icon for each queue in which you are Gold tier

Platinum tier:

  • Platinum forum badge
  • War Hero Janna skin
  • Platinum banner trim in summoner profile
  • Platinum border on the game loading screen
  • Platinum summoner icon for each queue in which you are Platinum tier

Diamond:

  • Diamond forum badge
  • War Hero Janna skin
  • Diamond banner trim in summoner profile
  • Diamond border on the game loading screen
  • Diamond summoner icon for each queue in which you are Diamond tier

Played in All Queues: achieved a tier in 5v5 solo, 5v5 team, and 3v3 team
Special summoner icon based on the lowest tier achieved in the three queues

You’ll reap your rewards shortly after the end of the season, but be on the lookout for sneak peeks of the skin, badges and other goods in the coming weeks. GLHF!

News on Queue Dodges

lunedì 10 settembre 2012

RiotYegg posted on forum:
Greetings summoners,

A few months ago we tried an experiment of removing the Elo penalty for dodging ranked games. In general I think everyone is happy with the results, with a couple notable exceptions:

1. Some players are dodging whenever they perceive that the other team has a stronger composition, with the goal of increasing their Elo through only playing when they have an advantage.

2. There's been an increase of what I'll call "queue dodge trolling", where a player will choose their champion and/or summoner spells in an effort to upset their teammates and get someone else to dodge for them.

Due to these, it can take a frustrating amount of time to get through champion select and into a game, especially at higher Elo ratings. We feel your pain on this issue, and in fact, many Rioters play at high Elos where these behaviors are the most common.

So, where does that leave us now? We're currently evaluating long term plans for further updating the penalty in order to discourage some of the more frivolous dodging. And in the short term, we'll be analyzing all of our queue dodge data for matchmade games and issuing warnings or temporary bans to players who are abusing it excessively.

If you've dodged a few times due to the occasional troll, you don't need to worry. We will only be targeting the worst offenders, both in terms of dodging and in terms of trolling to force others to dodge. This will be happening sometime in the next week.

Until then, may all your champ selects be harmonious and free of dodges!

I personally think they are reintroducing some kind of Elo loss, maybe in less points reduction, something like 3-4 elo + 20 minutes of queue.
Or they are just adding some button like kick player?

Everything has a good and a bad side-effects but with the new rank system and this new feature i'm going to look forward next season in something way much better!

New Elo Rankings

Welcome Summoners, i have a such fresh and good news for you,
Riot just released on PBE some files regarding new season 2/3 ranks, in praticularly, they released the future Badges used for your Elo.

Bronze

Silver

Gold

Platinum

Diamond

The intresting part is that we have exactly 8 badges for each Elo Rank, is Riot going to implement a Bracket system like Starcraft 2?
I really would like to see that in action and to be honest, i think that this system is way better than just having a number.
